#SWT is not a particular stable library or is it?

bundled version => Doesn't find .so files on #nixos
replacing it with the distro provided version => Works but now is a bit older and has a bug where the application just crashes. Application developer says to update it to latest version (known bug).
Bumped SWT to latest version => "Library for platform gtk cannot be loaded because of incompatible environment", application dev says "not seen that before".

lol

#biglybt #nix #nixos #eclipse

Application crashes when trying to download QubesOS via torrent.
Application doesn't crash when trying to download ArchLinux via torrent.

Anyone know what is different between these two torrent files?

Application logs blame libgdk-3.so.0+0x542e1 gdk_window_get_screen+0x21

and "Loading hsdis library failed".

Probably (still) a packaging issue, but what exactly am I missing?

#Biglybt #nixpkgs #nix #nixos

@mike805 @jeffcliff @brewsterkahle I agree.

For now, there's #BiglyBT which does that #I2P bridging, but that's only one and not one that is all that popular.

There is work being done in adding I2P support to #libtorrent (https://github.com/arvidn/libtorrent/tree/master) so eventually it will be much simpler for clients to enable it.

Making wrapping for the lib in some sane language is on my "eventually todo" list.

@jonny So, a bit like #BiglyBT nearly transparently supporting #I2P as well as #clearnet #torrenting?

Abmahnungen: Wie gefährlich ist Filesharing mit dem Handy?

Täglich werden unzählige Filesharing-Abmahnungen verschickt. Wer abseits seines WLAN-Routers ist, geht aber zumindest geringere Risiken ein.

@rs1linuxtools
We prefer #I2PSnark or #BiglyBT.

In our opinion, #I2P is the only internet that should be used for most everything, but especially #torrenting.

BiglyBT is a feature filled, open source, ad-free, bittorrent client.
BiglyBT is the continuation of the Vuze/Azureus open source project first created in 2003, and is being actively developed by the original coders.
We’ve kept all of the features you love, while dropping the ones you probably don’t (such as ads and third party software).
If you are already using Azureus or Vuze

BiglyBT - Bittorrent Client

BiglyBT is a feature filled, open source, bittorrent client. I2P integration, Swarm Merging, Advanced Tag System, WebTorrent support, built-in VPN kill switch, Meta-search, UPnP/DLNA access, and much more.

@[email protected]:Libtorrent has just released version 2.0, which is a potential game-changer. The BitTorrent library, which is used by popular clients including uTorrent Web, Deluge, and qBittorrent, adds support for the new BitTorrent v2 protocol specification. This opens the door to various new features and introduces a new torrent format, which creates a separate swarm.

libtorrent-logoMillions of people use BitTorrent every day but only a few know all the ins-and-outs of how it works.

Meanwhile, an even smaller group is actively involved in shaping the future of the file-sharing protocol.

BitTorrent was first made public by inventor Bram Cohen nearly two decades ago. While it was swiftly embraced by the masses, the protocol itself was far from perfect. Over the years many new features were added, including DHT, UDP trackers, peer-exchange, and support for streaming.
