Apparently the US federal government is moving forward with plans to build a border wall in the Big Bend area in Texas. This is making me sad, because I’ve only been to Big Bend once and have wanted to go back there ever since. It’s a magical place. #BigBend #Texas

The Lantern

Made it home from camping in West Texas. Considered staying there for the weekend; weather didn't look too bad there. But wanted to get home to prep the house for a deep freeze, and make sure we had the generator here at the house in case we lose power. (We only have one, and it was with us.)

CBP was everywhere along the border, but every encounter we had was perfunctory and polite. (And we decided to employ the "Grey Rock" strategy.)
