The debt, deportation, and death bill has passed. Congress further decimates care work to fund violence work. Vital services eviscerated and ICE becomes the highest-funded federal law enforcement agency ever known.
It hasn’t been sold this way, but it’s a massive public jobs program for fascists. Time to call it by its true name. $20k signing bonuses to join CPB are already being dangled.
This bill was never just about tax cuts and gutting social services. It's about investing our collective resources in violence and using state power to spread fear and destroy solidarity. We need to resist this with all we've got and organize to build an alternative -- a solidarity state, not a hate state.
I'm so grateful to all the Debt Collective staff and members and also our allies (especially ADAPT) who worked to stop this lethal bill, and who faced arrest and detention in record heat last week.
I wish I could say we'll live to fight another day, but the truth is not everyone will survive this monstrosity. We need to keep organizing to ensure as many folks as possible make it.

I don't think it's been mentioned enough that many effects of the #bigbadbill won't take effect until after midterms, so #Republicans won't feel its political effects during #2026midterm and if they lose there then they will absolutely blame Democrats for the death and suffering it causes.
