The reason why #rent hasn't skyrocketed in my hometown compared to the average is because instead of "just #privatizing" by selling off public-owned assets like city-built #housing for cheap to #HedgeFunds and #BigRealEstate corporations, the city spun off said holdings into a #cooperative that has non-profit status, at least reducing any gentrification against seniors and low-income households.

Yes, as we thought it was indeed hackaday that provided some coverage of this very, very under-reported event.

Its not what it does per se that is the issue. Its, as you mention, those three points you mentioned, the experimental aspects combined with how #BigTech are now branching out into #bigRealEstate and have bought entire town and parts of cities, like #Google has done etc.

As a way to dilute the power of the #universities as repositories, we advocate sharing #freeSoftware over #I2PSnark (the torrent system that works over #I2P.

Of course, include the signed signatures etc.

We need to do whatever we can to diminish the importance of universities, they are becoming far to aggressive in courting the #corporateState for #funding. This includes pandering to #BigTech and #BigRealEstate.

Is its the same in the US and Europe?

In #Australia, #bigRealEstate, #propertyTycoons and #businessRoundtables who control the media actually blame people #livingLonger for the need to justify #extremeImmigration levels.

The *real* reason they do it is to pump up their #assetPrices/#housePrices, and to flood their #unethical #corporations with fresh new #workers etc.

Basically a #pyramidScheme.

They couldn't do this during #COVID19 and so we saw a so-called "#recession".
