I ordered an #X99 board with CPU and RAM off eBay last week. Finally I'll have a computer with #bifurcation and above 4GB decoding so I can host the multiple experiments I have planned.

Only one problem, the cpu cooler I had doesn't actually fit, and those that fit #2011v3 are not available in stores. In fact there's only one or two on eBay that don't ship from China. So I have to wait another week to have fun.

Is this the upgrade treadmill? Does anyone else obsess over technology?

Literally for days now all I can think of is how to spend as little as possible to get either a system board with a chipset that supports 4x4x4x4 #bifurcation or an adapter card which has a built-in switch.

I've even considered getting a mining board with a bunch of 4x slots, all just to get that sweet striped NVMe throughput just to saturate the 40gb cards I bought.

Fortunately I'm too cheap to pay retail for anything.
