We should move the #Venice #Bienale|(s) to the Italien equivalent of Kassel.

Auf der Bienale in Venedig schüttet Ersan Mondtag den Eingang zum deutschen Pavillon mit anatolischer Erde zu, allein dieses Bild ist aussagekräftiger als viele Worte. Den Pavillon müssen die Besucher durch einen Seiteneingang betreten. Dort läuft eine Performance, die Mondtag für seinen Großvater inszeniert hat. Ihm errichtet er hier ein „Denkmal eines unbekannten Mannes“. Die Ausschnitte, die ich gesehen habe, waren überwältigend, traurig. Beschämend.

A look into one of the pavilions at an early 1970s Venice Biennale. Black and white photo taken by me, copied on paper in the darkroom at the time. The hard copy, is right now photographed in raw format on the iPhone and slightly fixed in Lightroom.
