Penultimate day of the year, penultimate bike trip! In Ljubljana there was sunshine, surprisingly, but it was very cold, frost in the early morning, temperatures well below zero; it was a few degrees warmer in the Friulian lowlands between Nova Gorica, Palmanova, and Cervignano del Friuli, so this was the place to go to.

Day 1/3: #bicycletrip from Mürzzuschlag to Bruck an der Mur. Fantastic weather, autumn colors, and first of the three days! Also, easily doable on a #Brompton - both traveling by train and cycling on mostly flat terrain.

My mind is still a bit at the 4-day #bicycletrip we did on #Brompton bicycles in Croatia from Friday to Monday, exploring #PlitviceLakes and the downstream #Korana river. We discovered and of course used (it was rather hot!) quite some swimming spots. One rather romantic spot, not so much for swimming though, is this one on the photo – close to Bosnian border, next so a small village of Skukani, an old mill is collapsing in itself.

Attended a short #bicycletrip organized by nature park #LjubljanaMarsh focused on history, especially the pile dwellers. For me the highlight was the still visible course of a Roman road running between Ljubljana (Roman: Emona) to Ig. And I returned from the marshes wish some wild hops for the evening tea!

Waiting to depart from Rijeka, Croatia, to Ljubljana, Slovenia. The two #Brompton bikes behaved well yesterday, so they were awarded with an easy #bicycletrip of 20 km today ;) with swimming stops! The #sea at Opatija riviera is nicely fresh due to underground sweetwater sources!
