Two distinctly different enclosure systems in Lincolnshire were excavated. A series of inter-linked enclosures formed part of a larger complex farmstead developing dating to mid-2nd century AD and some features indicated industrial activity and the main economic focus was beef production. A Saxon field system characterised by curvilinear boundaries and irregular enclosure sizes was also excavated nearby and dates to 6th and 10th centuries AD. Its focus appears to have been pastoralism.
The first of June is the Global Day of Parents along with other holidays related to parenting, such as Internation Children’s Day and other regional holidays. Those of you struggling to keep up your lives while suddenly becoming unpaid school principals and support technicians haven’t been forgotten, just because the school year is in the home stretch.
As it turns out, tomorrow is International Nurses Day (chosen to coincide with Florence Nightingale’s birthday), and I think we can agree that a job that shoulders a lot of the medical system’s burdens—especially where it comes into direct contact with patients—without nearly the recognition of other medical professionals is one worth recognizing.
OK, yes, you can call today “Star Wars Day,” if you want, but at this point, it’s really just about the hold one of the largest corporations in history (that isn’t exactly doing good deeds while weathering the pandemic) slowly collecting popular franchises to wring more money out of people.
