Imagine if drivers had to be like, "man, if you're going to drive to Beaverton, watch out for that property owner(s) that will try to slash you in the face with their thorny blackberry vines while you're doing 30mph around the curve down #bhHwy westbound of Dosch" #BikeTooter #Portland #pdxBikes
#PaintIsNotProtection and the overall neglect of the safety and quality of bike infrastructure (always designed to make ample room for cars) is the systemic reason people keep driving, keep turning the crank on the war machine every day. And it's also the one thing that leaders can easily change to influence behavior. It's not a lack of budget or space, it's that the DOTs spend it all on cars and ignore every mode of #transportation that actually makes a city work. #stroads #bhHwy #Portland

with "transportation bureaus" and "bike advocates" like these, who needs transportation bureaus and bike advocates? #Portland #Beaverton #bhHwy, Bertha, Capitol, all three are key bike routes which are stranded by #ODOTGTFOpdx's stroads.

Neighborhood group, backed by bike advocate, opposes bike lane upgrades

They also want more input into PBOT project selections.

#BikeLaneSweeper vs crumbling #stroads lined with auto-oriented businesses with gravel driveways #bhHwy
#BikeLaneSweeper videos stacked so you can see what went in as the sweeper goes by. 2nd pass on this stretch #pdxBikes this is a lot of gravel, we should just get jersey barriers and keep the gravel + cars out of the bike lanes. #bhHwy

What measure are we using to decide that our #stroads need extra car lanes instead of #busLanes/turn-only lanes? Here's 5pm on a Friday. #visionZero #pdxBikes #Portland #Beaverton #bhHwy
Stopped here to wrestle with this thornberry bush that has been hanging across the whole bike lane, despite this bike having no secateurs in the toolkit. I've reported this to PBOT like five times in as many months. #pdxBikes #bhHwy #pdxReporter 632336
Today I stopped by The Place Where It Happened to see if I could find the bolt head or whether there was a washer. The bump that broke the camel's seat clamp bolt wasn't even that significant but these drain grates always ruin 95% of the lane width. (Move the flex posts left a little and maybe the street will quit disintegrating there.) #bhHwy #CarsRuinEverything

Watch me go down this hill at 42mph, glad PBOT seems to have finally swept #bhHwy somewhat. #pdxBikes

These "traffic separator" curbs have a gap between them that's not big enough to get out on a bike, but tends to send a stream of debris diagonally across the lane. Useless bike-containment patriarchal nonsense, needs a different design, besides not offering any protection from 45mph cars. #protectedBikeLanes
