I just recently learned about two "new"(?) e-mail clients for Linux:

Aerion, which says it's inspired by Geary. https://aerion.3df.io

And Betterbird, which is Thunderbird with quite a few extra bug fixes and small features, like support for systray icon in Linux. https://www.betterbird.eu/

Anyone have any experience with any of these?

Last december I quitted my account at Revolut, because I can do everything they do with the account I have with my other bank (for years). There was no reason to keep it, so off it went.
Today I was reading a message on the #Betterbird weblog and I am more than glad that I did what I did.

Совсем недавно я вспоминал про TheBat! — легендарный почтовый клиент, который прошел долгий путь и продолжает радовать своих пользователей. Но время не стоит на месте, и появилось немало интересных программ и сервисов, о которых знают не все. Just tried out the build-in email client in #Vivaldi another shot. Works great, unless you:

* Want to connect to your Proton account with the client: can't change the incoming server to the correct security setting to use the Proton Bridge program

* Want to use the setup to connect to an old Hotmail account: just hangs when you try to connect the OAuth for the acocunt

* Try to use the automatic Import settings: it doesn't also pull the passwords and sets all of your accounts to Offline, for some weird reason

Praying that #Thunderbird isn't forced to add #AI into the base browser by #Mozilla.

When I tried #Betterbird, I had an entirely different set of issues.

Why is it so hard to find a decent email client? Webmail is NOT an option I want to have to pursue. I have too many accounts for that.

How do people feel about #Betterbird?

Also, what about the classics #KMail and Evolution? Anybody using those these days? Does either of them work with Gmail?
