Composer Bernard Hermann considered the score for “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir” (1947) (https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLkAUJkbhd-RhvLijwvhn8ZyG9Uqt4EqqA&si=how9tJ4mYX18YgSh) to be his best. It was later listed as one of The American Film Institute’s top 250 film scores of first 100yrs of film history

Listening to #BernardHermann reminded me that I have had a lifelong, inexplicable, fascination and love of the #Mankiewicz film The Ghost and Mrs Muir with Gene Tierney and Rex Harrison, which Hermann scored. And the subsequent TV sitcom with Hope Lange and Edward Mulhare (who was hawt). I cannot explain this.

In other music adventures I listened to this; #BernardHermann's hour long suite from his opera #WutheringHeights right through, thoroughly rapt in it's sound world. Korngoldish with many of Hermann's #Hitchcock trademarks but utterly unique and compelling. Beautifully performed and recorded to boot!
