i'm on the 5th floor, top floor, and there is a thunderstorm DIRECTLY overhead. i stepped out onto the balcony to get a sense of it, and lighting cracked cloud-to-cloud so near to my head i almost fell over getting back inside. absolutely zero perceptible delay between lightning and thunder.
