Finally figured out why SMS games were only showing up as static on my modded Game Gear - I missed soldering a wire between points T10 and T11. Now it's fixed!
I never want to open this thing again.

While I am still recovering, I managed to not only fix the Game Gear screen mod I messed up on previously, but I also resolved the HDMI issues I was having and dyed the shell for an atomic purple look!
