#Tone
With tone being a higher order feeling, something internal to the reader, an #Author, #Narrator or #Performer can only present material to be interpretted.
So how to present/perform/narrate a novel or piece of #ClassicalMusic?
#BenjaminZander of the #BostonPhilharmonic Orchestra has ideas, pretty strong ideas, about this.
The following video* is troubling.
It shows orthodoxy being imposed.
And also speaks to the downside of overly emotional presentation of art.

I could pretend that when a work of #Literature is made into an #Audiobook that I think all ways of performing it are equal.
But I don't.
Rather, unless the original literature is clearly discernable through the audiobook performance, or the audiobook is clearly labelled as an adaption, then selling it as an audiobook of a #Novel is deceptive.
Hi #Audible. "Deceptive" here mean anything to you?
#Attention, #SesameStreet and #BenjaminZander to be discussed soon.
Listen to Maestro Benjamin Zander talk about the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra and why you should attend. Then come to the concert at Symphony Hall on February 24th. As the Maestro says, it will be "a concert you will remember for a long time."
