Predictably following the Beer Hall Putsch of 1923, a smilar attack to the January 6th attack on the Capitol, once in power the Nazis erected a memorial to their dead in front of the Feldherrnhalle, the building the Nazis attacked. Passing Munichers were expected to do a Nazi salute as they went by but many chose instead to go the back way on the Drückebergergasse thus avoiding the need to do the salute. A small act of rebellion, but small acts of righteous rebellion are worthwhile and important nonetheless.

The success of #jan6th participants in getting out of consequences, casting themselves as patriots, and getting brought into the fold is neither new nor surprising.

#reconstruction failed after the Civil war because northern whites were eager to "heal" the divide and reunite the nation.

We cannot allow this to become the American equivalent to the #BeerHallPutsch, where Nazis failed to sieze power in the 1920s, had no real consequences for it, and we all know what happened in the 30s
