#PalletFork also suitable for beehive relocation 😁

No bees in there, so nobody got bothered (them or me).

These two hives are somewhat intact, or at least one. Might be worth saving as I have a ton of frames for them in the beekeeping shed (and even more in the attic). Needs cleanout and some repairing though.

For now I just parked them by the fence so I can clear out the junk underneath.

The bees are finding a lot of yellow pollen today, no idea what is is, no bees in the trees here. Easily 90-100 bees per minute with pollen.

Bunte Bienenstöcke wie diese sind überall im ländlichen Griechenland zu finden. Ich lerne, dass die Kisten bemalt sind, damit sich die Bienen (die nur bestimmte Farben sehen) besser orientieren. Honig gilt hier seit der Antike als wichtiges Nahrungs- und Heilmittel; schon Aristoteles beschrieb die Imkerei als göttliche Kunst. Noch ist die Bienenzucht für viele griechische Familien ein Bestandteil des Lebensunterhalts.
