I decided that I wanted to learn to play bass recorder. Since I can't even play a tenor recorder properly (my fingers don't stretch far enough to cover the holes properly), a real bass is out of the question. Alto recorders, however, are in the same key as bass recorders. So I got myself a second alto recorder that I can pretend is a bass.
Lesson number one, of course, is that the sharps and flats are not in the same place in the bass clef as they are in the treble clef.
