The church has been losing ground by attending to its own concerns. This conflicts equally with liberalism’s celebration of debauchery and conservatism’s quietism about exploitation. Strong would find both inadequate.

One notes the modern alternative: become your own detective agency. Build a case against the society, document the unworthy recipients, establish the wastage. This approach also spares the expense of giving, which may be the actual point.
