It's the time of the year when I look outside and think

"You should make a Baltic Porter for the next autumn".

The thing is that I probably need to get started with this in like June to give the beer enough time to mature and round out until autumn.

And who brews big bold dark and syrupy 9% ABV beers in the middle of June?

Well it's #BalticPorterDay so it had to be this one. 🍻

Spacepunk by Heyday is a really good Barrel Aged Baltic Porter with fruity, woody/oaky, chocolatey flavours. Nicely balanced.

Does anyone have a recipe for a good Baltic Porter? Most homebrewing recipes I find are specialty malt soups with more than 20% Caramel Malt and that's waaaaay too sweet for me.

Ritual Lab - Choco Porter

Perhaps more coffee than choco (or at least very dark chocolate), but very smooth. Super pleasant mouthfeel with fine carbonation and ever so slightly sticky. Sweetness and mild bitterness in good harmony.

A rich pour in deep black and red tones, the nose is dark fruit, caramel and chocolate. Thick bodied, sweet and pleasantly boozy.
