Little Peanut is not so little anymore—he fledged today! He's been putting up with multiple owl attacks every night lately, and was bullied a lot by big brother Brutus early on, but look at him go now. Happy fledge day, Peanut!

I stopped off after lunch to watch the bald eagle nest and there were two eagles. One perched at the top of the tree and the other in the nest. Apparently there are some hatchlings as well since 3/27, but I did not witness any feeding behavior while I was there. There was a moderate wind coming from the southwest, which indicates warmer weather.
In any case, I thought up this silly haiku that pivots the word for I (when used as an old man, which I feel like on a daily basis) and eagle, which makes it entirely too hard to...
Jackie & Shadow's second clutch of eggs have both hatched! (The first clutch broke/were eaten by ravens.) They hatched really close together, so they're a similar size, and both aggressive so far, so I can never tell which one is older. Both doing well so far, and getting lots of food and protection, of course.
