it’s not quite #worldcon yet so we went to the national piping center in glasgow, and I picked up some books and a few pointers.

as fate would have it, the international piping festival is next week in glasgow, as well, so i’ll be doing a wee bit of that, too!

i bought a blair digital chanter about a year ago and i still love it. the finger holes are holes and trigger when light is blocked, which imo works better than the contact-based alternatives. headphone support is the killer feature, of course (ask the family). and it travels well—i typically bring it along in my carry on bag when flying. it supports midi—some day i need to actually try that out...
