As I've heard #BadStuff about #LemmyWorld I'm visiting with the #WBM.
I have no proof Lemmy World are bad but if they are actively blocking stuff that is good for #humanity then we should all be #vigilant and #aware of the issue.
Martin Jambon 🌍🌎🌏I'm an idealist. This means I have a tendency to fall in love with my models because they work so well for predicting things in a simple and systematic fashion. Then, if I'm not careful, I may end up applying them beyond their domain of applicability with disastrous results. If you too are an idealist, it's good to keep it in mind and do reality checks with independent actors.
For example, don't make a big purchase without checking if others see any obvious problem with it.

At the same time, my stress levels are so much lower on Mastodon, and I spend most of my time "here" smiling at the creativity, insights, and general conversation.

I keep seeing people say Mastodon is nothing like Twitter. And they’re right. Mastodon is an echo of the old internet, it’s decentralised, chaotic. What you get depends on your sysadmin. You can’t search, everything has to be shared to you by a human. Networks split apart and rejoin. What you see is your unique connection to it. Is this good? Maybe. But for me that’s the internet I grew up with. No algorithms, no targeted adverts, just human interaction, and it was glorious.
