Happy #internationalBanjoDay
“My Bloody Banjo” might be the most unhinged movie we’ve watched…
…and that’s saying something.
Also: we learned what a “banjo string” is.
We wish we hadn’t.

When a terrible movie becomes this relevant again that is a pretty bad sign, right?
Nicely done website but let's not get hung up on the accuracy 😉
We watched Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance so you don’t have to.
🔥 Nic Cage screaming
🔥 CGI chaos
🔥 A flaming construction crane???
New episode: “Scraping at the Door”
This movie isn’t good… but it is something.
The badness is part of the fun of old B-movies, but The Unknown Terror, 1957, takes it a little too far. It has the usual sexism and racism, and adds a storyline about a guy with a bum leg that is trying to be uplifting, but fails. It doesn't even have a good monster. Only for very serious students of bad cinema.
From Hell It Came is a terrible B-movie from 1957. The tree monster is kind of fun, but overall the movie is so wildly racist and sexist that I can't recommend. For serious students of bad cinema only.
It Came From Beneath The Sea is an amazing 1955 B-movie. The stop-motion giant octopus is wonderful, but the monster is good old sexism.

Today I discovered that there is a 1980s Greydon Clark movie, starring Joe Don Baker [1], which has not been riffed by RiffTrax (or MST3K, or Cinematic Titanic), and I'm frankly shocked.
If it's not one of the four new episodes of MST3K the RiffTrax guys are doing, I'm going to be some disappointed.
[1] The same #cinematic pairing that resulted in Final Justice (1985), A.K.A. "Mitchell Goes to Malta", some of the finest #cheese ever #riffed.

The Yesterday Machine, release date unknown but it's early 1960s, is a truly bad movie. Think Plan 9 From Outer Space, but worse in every way. I can only recommend it to serious students of bad cinema, but to those, I recommend it highly. No monsters, but a Nazi mad scientist talks a lot.
Free on Tubi, of course.
