Starting a new #XPlane #flightsim mission tonight.
I will be flying a hopped up PA-18 Super Cub to all 32 of Idaho's backcountry airstrips in real-world weather and day VFR.
Yanked the 180 hp Lycoming O-360 and installed an eight-cylinder 400HP Lycoming IO-720. Of course, this is fantasy flying as this would not fly (pun intended) in RL due to a severely nose heavy CG.
"Super Cub November 1633 Yankee...comin' in HOT!"
Funny thing? I started, first time in my life, proper recording lyrics and tunes that my idling backcountry mind comes up during various chores.

*solarpunk tag used to reasure strugling artists, that yes, actual recording of folkish tunes in field is a plausible activity - probatum est
This was a fantastic headline to kick off the week:
"Nobel committee unable to reach prize winner who is ‘living his best life’ hiking off grid
Fred Ramsdell was among those honoured with a 2025 Nobel Prize in Medicine but might not know because he is somewhere in Idaho and uncontactable"

Bursum Road is a stunningly scenic route in Catron County. Narrow and winding, the road is a single-lane route with occasional turnouts and roaming cows. The road is paved to Mogollon, becoming an unpaved, rough, single-lane road as it climbs into the Gila. In dry and favorable conditions, the drive can be relatively benign. However, after rain, the road can become extremely muddy, slippery, and, in some cases, completely impassable.
