This week's #PS3 #DEMO #LiveStream was the 2008 game Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 from #Capcom and #Backbone. i hadn't played it before and didn't know what to expect. the art and style was good, but not quite replicated in 3D. it was fun to play.

On January 14, 2026, global telnet traffic observed by GreyNoise sensors fell off a cliff. A 59% sustained reduction, eighteen ASNs going completely silent, five countries vanishing from our data entirely. Six days later, CVE-2026-24061 dropped. Coincidence is one explanation.

Since this year I have massive trouble accessing anything hosted on AWS during the evening hours like these.

My ISP is Deutsche Telekom AG (AS3320) and it looks like the only route to AWS (AS16509) leads through Cogent (AS174). MTR is showing more than 30% packet loss through Cogent to an AWS target.

I know peering between DTAG and Cogent has been historically bad, but I never noticed issues until now. What happened? Do any BGP nerds know more?

Gold price fell rather sharply yesterday.

Some said it was because Trump's Federal Reserve Chair pick soothed the market. Kevin Warsh will preserve the Fed's independence.

I don't believe Warsh will defend the Fed at all. Haven't people seen how Americans bend their knees the moment Trump says some threatening words to them? They only find their #backbone if they are planning to retire or not running for reelection.
