From pregnancy tests, to first scans, to second scans, to first trimester to second trimester and now I'm in the third trimester! Not finding out the gender so been picking lots of gender neutral outfits - I have a brand new pram and car seat, sorting out nappies/water wipes, moses basket, next-to-me-cot, bath washes - I just need to get some bottles as I plan to combine feed boob & bottle (all being well) sort hospital bags, chose a baby formula etc! My house is too small for a nursery so I need to get my arse into gear and make space in the house but that nesting instinct hasn't really kicked in yet 🙈 I've been experiencing pre-natal depression the last few months also hence being MIA but also working and dealing with the 3 kids I already have. The last three weeks have been challenging since being diagnosed with gestational diabetes - having to do finger prick tests before meals/an hour after meals depending on the day and watch what I eat, regular meals and meal planning is something I find a challenge. I had an extra scan a week ago and was told they think the baby will be small and I have a scan next week to double check the growth of the baby (and check the placenta) but I don't feel worried because my first baby was only 6lb 4 but my second was 9lb 3oz so I don't think the scans can ever correctly predict the size - as long as the placenta is doing its job (minus being able to 'manage' insulin) then I'm happy with that. It'll be a little sugar baby! After birth they have to monitor the baby to ensure baby can manage its own glucose levels and I'll be potentially induced a week early (which I'm not mad about as my others were all overdue and induced) I've spoken to a few mothers who have experienced this plus also experiencing type 2 diabetes after or also completely recovering from it once the placenta was out. I love to know other people's stories on their births, pregnancy and if they had gestational diabetes - currently just trying to take day by day. Hope you're all doing OK grid people!"

So, here's to the second trimester and celebrating what my body can do!"
