👤 Our speaker from the Cuban Embassy @embacubarfa will talk about the US blockade #UnblockCuba, current developments and the commitment to peace and sovereignty. Followed by discussion.

In recent months, thousands have taken to the streets in Cuba – for peace, against the blockade and against the increased imperialist threat from the US. There have also been large demonstrations with very high participation by schoolchildren and students on important anniversaries of the Cuban Revolution.

Previously, following the invasion of Venezuela and the hostage-taking of Venezuelan President Maduro and his wife, the US government had declared Cuba its next target as a ‘threat to national security’ in an executive order.

👤 Unser Referent von der Kubanischen Botschaft  @embacubarfa  wird über die US-Blockade #UnblockCuba, die aktuellen Entwicklungen und den Einsatz für Frieden und Souveränität sprechen. Anschließend Diskussion.

In den letzten Monaten gingen in Kuba Tausende auf die Straße – für Frieden, gegen die Blockade und gegen die verstärkte imperialistische Bedrohung durch die USA. Außerdem gab es große Demonstrationen mit sehr hoher Beteiligung von Schüler*innen und Student*innen zu wichtigen Gedenktagen der kubanischen Revolution.

Zuvor hatte die US-Regierung nach dem Überfall auf Venezuela und der Geiselnahme des venezuelanischen Präsidenten Maduro und seiner Ehefrau mit einer Exekutivanordnung Kuba zum nächsten Ziel als „Bedrohung der nationalen Sicherheit“ erklärt.

IMMINENT ATTACK ON PROSFYGIKA? - INPUT ON THE CURRENT SITUATION AND DISCUSSION ABOUT PRACTICAL INTERNATIONALIST SOLIDARITY

Since 16 years, the self-administrated neighborhood Prosfygika exists as a flame of resistance, communality and hope in the heart of Athens.

The community and it's inhabitants, the old and young, migrants, families, students and vulnerable groups are facing an imminent attack by the Greek state.

In summer 2025, the local government secretly initiated a contract for the plan of eviction and renovation of four buildings of the community, driving forward the gentrification of the area; the attack happening within the next months.

Over the last decade, this is the fourth time that the state and the government have attempted to evict and plunder Prosfygika.

This time appears to be the most serious and is about to be implemented immediately.

The threat is not new, but the answer to it neither.
