Greenan Castle, near Ayr. The ruin of a 15th C tower house, stands the site of a previous motte and bailey and promontory fort. Tales of family feuds and murder still resonate around this atmospheric cliff top ruin.

He began the House of Stewart/Stuart, which ruled Scotland for over two centuries before unifying the crowns of Scotland and England.
