In a broader sense of the word, isolation is not merely a physical attribute for the existence itself, but there are other definitions of this word that can prove to be severer and harsher. I would argue that Rp patients do take multiple hits from isolation on varying levels; physically, socially, emotionally, and even mentally.
On a physical level, it can manifest in many ways, starting from the limited capabilities with moving and transportation (with varying degrees), naturally, but what might be hard to digest further is when technology and its developers don't quite consider or think about people with special needs such as those afflicted by RP. Recently, for example, one of the essential apps for ordering food and groceries, canceled the website services (which is relatively easier to use) and transformed its operations to their app. Needless to say, beside the strain and stress because of the size (and the unnecessary ads and offers plaguing the interface), the app is not optimized for easy viewing (dark mode) and doesn't respond to the phone's system settings. This is just one facade of the isolation, when someone with RP lives (or has to live) in a world that puts zero consideration or thought into conditions of this sort, and instead of aiding patients to depend on themselves as much as possible, the community seems to force such people to adapt to a world that they no longer can function in like normal people do...
