AGI - Una ragazza di 22 anni è stata ferita alla testa da un proiettile vagante domenica notte a Palermo in via Quintino Sella, non lontano da via La Lumia, una delle zone della movida notturna. Il ferimento sarebbe avvenuto al culmine di una rissa tra due gruppi contrapposti. La ragazza è ricoverata all'ospedale Villa Sofia, deve essere operata ma le sue condizioni non sarebbero gravi. Sull'accaduto indagano i carabinieri che - come da prassi - acquisiranno le immagini dagli impianti di videosorveglianza oltre che ascoltare possibili testimoni. 
Un 20enne interrogato in caserma
Un giovane di 20 anni in queste ore è in caserma dai carabinieri di Palermo per essere interrogato. Il sospetto degli investigatori del comando provinciale dell'Arma di piazza Verdi, è che possa essere colui che avrebbe sparato. La giovane è stata operata d'urgenza e non è in pericolo di vita e il proiettile è stato estratto dalla scatola cranica. La vittima era in auto con un ventenne, probabile obiettivo di chi ha usato l'arma. Fondamentale per ricostruire in parte la sequenza le immagini degli impianti di videosorveglianza.

Municipal Elections, turnout down by almost five percentage points from the previous round, with 60% recorded. Lombardy, Veneto, Liguria, and Molise performed poorly.

Despite the mayors and composition of the municipal council being chosen – people and not parties with closed lists – the trend remains unchanged: even at the May 24th and 25th municipal elections, turnout registered a decrease. This decrease was quite significant. Following the closure of 6,278 polling stations across the territory, the figure stands at 60.06%, i.e., almost five points less than the previous electoral round: 64.91%.

Almost 750 Italian municipalities participated in the vote, of which 18 were capitals throughout Italy. The region with the highest voter turnout is Umbria, with over 70.7%, while Molise registers the lowest participation (47.7%). Poor performance was seen in the regions where citizen political attention is typically more consistent: in Lombardy, only 52.69% of eligible voters cast their ballots, and in Emilia-Romagna, it was 54.36%. Liguria (53.51%), Veneto (54.42%), and Piedmont (54.43%) also performed poorly.

The abstention rate, compared to the previous municipal elections, was least pronounced in the South: in Campania, it fell from 68.91% to 67.85%, in Basilicata from 62.17% to 60.77%, and in Calabria from 62.08% to 60.8%. Those who lost the most points are: Emilia-Romagna (approximately 11), Lombardia and Piedmont (9), and Tuscany (from 62.74% to 55.73%).

There are some capitals that stand out: the case of Messina, where voter participation even increased, reaching 61.93%, i.e., 6.37% more than in previous elections. Salerno and Avellino also perform well, effectively confirming the turnout of the last electoral round. A significant drop was seen in Venice (-7%), Prato (-9%), and Arezzo (-7%).

AGI - Polling stations closed at 3:00 PM for the municipal elections, which called to the polls over 6 million 600 thousand Italians to elect mayors and renew municipal councils in 894 municipalities, of which 18 are provincial capitals. In municipalities with more than 15,000 inhabitants, any run-off elections will be held on June 7th and 8th.

The provincial capitals where voting took place were: Venice, Lecco, Mantua, Arezzo, Pistoia, Prato, Fermo, Macerata, Chieti, Avellino, Salerno, Andria, Trani, Reggio Calabria, Crotone, Agrigento, Enna, and Messina.

Turnout at the closing of the polling stations was 60.03%, down from the 64.90% of the previous consultations.

Turnout recorded at 11:00 PM yesterday was 46.3%, down from 50.2% of the previous electoral round. At 7:00 PM, 34.5% of eligible voters had voted (compared to 37% previously), while at 12:00 PM, turnout was 14.74% (15.75% the previous time).
