@D3Reo has been trying to make me study #categorytheory for a while now.
I use Python for machine learning in #neuro, the functional language I like studying is Julia, so I'm still struggling to understand if and how much category theory may benefit my code and "software engineering".

But I've come back to an old name in my reading list, that of mathematical biologist Robert Rosen, whose theory of life used categories to characterize the organization of chemical processes sustaining life.

I am reading some bits of "Category theory for the sciences" by Spivak, but I would love to read a realist expert telling me I would hardly make use of any of that in what I typically work on and likely will work on, as a coder.

Reading @petergleick 's https://fediscience.org/@petergleick/111151660243926114 I put here an idea of #MetaIssue or #politics (?). #we (the difficult concept!), over many #issues, need to form ( #autopoiesis ) #our way of #prioritizing among #issues.

It's not just that Musk spent $44 billion on Twitter and turned it into $8 billion. It's that he has so fucking much money that he doesn't care. Tax billionaires till it hurts.
