Trying to SILENCE the Autistic Brain is Difficult! #AutisticMind #ActuallyAutismhttps://ift.tt/rcJIl8M

In the 60s, it was enough not to smile at the right moment to end up in a psychiatry manual.
Those were the famous nine points to recognize autism.
I reread them, one by one — and took them apart with some sarcasm and a generous dose of neuroirony.

Because the problem isn’t autism.
It’s how it’s perceived, narrated, and translated by those who don’t live it.

For me, when I learned I was autistic, it finally all made sense. I'm fitting the pieces together with a VERY late in life diagnosis.

Here's the audio version of an interview that autistic art therapist Jackie Schuld did with me, in her series of interviews with late-identified autistic folks.

Listen now | Fitting the pieces together with a very late-in-life diagnosis

Nature :: Spirit - Exploring spirituality in a living world
Every year for Christmas I cook boeuf bourguignon. Every year they say „it’s better than the last year’s”.
So they said last night that this year’s better than last years’s and it’s delicious, and so on.
It’s only today in the morning that I discovered I didn’t use smoked bacon’s cubes, absolutely essential to beef preparation.
I put the blame on my #autisticMind that just can’t properly follow the instructions, even though I know the recipe by heart…
#ActuallyAutistic

Is is possible that the #AutisticMind is actually the original neurotype? We are more grounded to nature, physically despise arbitrary hierarchies, pursue justice, place kindness over all else. 1/2

And yeah, my #autisticMind struggles with the idea of leaving an unfinished #book behind. It’s undisputable for me that a book must be read from the beginning until the end. With preface and any appendices, footnotes.
