This is not my echidna!
So, after yesterday's adventures with multiple random lost dogs being picked up and ubered to the pound.. today I was driving out to pick my housemate up from work and found an echidna in the road.
I don't know if he'd been hit or not, so me and someone else who stopped scooped him I to the emergency pet carrier I've got in the car (we put it there after the fox rescue a couple of months ago) and took him to the vet.
Half of Bathurst drove past to see me crawling around on the road in my pyjamas, no bra, titties swinging and hair wild... fantastic.
The vet said I have good instincts, and he looked like he might be a little bit hurt so it's a good thing I grabbed the poor spiky boy.
Things I learned:
- add heavy duty gloves to the car
- echidna have such strong little toes they can claw into the bitumen so you can't scoop them up
- WIRES never picks up the fucking phone
