Originally conceived as an #instrumental by producer #PatrickLeonard for the #score of #Paramount's film #FireWithFire (1986), it was rejected by the studio, who deemed it unfit for the movie.

#AtCloseRange ist die Überraschung in meinem #Noirvember. Penn & Walken (creepy as hell!) spielen intensiv, aber nie übertrieben. Die Story ist fesselnd in ruhigen, schönen Bildern erzählt. Walkens Eiseskälte, der unerwartet krasse 3. Akt & die zarten Momente zw. Penn & Masterson hallen lange nach. Und über allem schweben melancholisch schön die unverkennbaren Synths von Madonnas „Live to tell“. Großes 80er Kino!
