Does anybody here have a suggestion for a restaurant in #Avignon for tonight? We're passing through, will catch a TGV in the morning and would like to have a nice meal on our last evening in France. We eat most things, don't want to end up in a tourist trap but rather support good local restaurants that cook nice food.

I volunteered to join a working group on the use of "AI", which I guess mean #LLMs in research at my institute, to draft some guidelines on the ethics of using it. Anyone can point me to similar initiatives at other institutes, some good texts about all the ethical issues, preferably in the same academic setting. I have seen and read plenty that passed through my timeline, but I am sure there are plenty more. #ask_fedi

A question for #english #language nerds:

I need a word that is synonyms with "empty", but it doesn't imply that something is missing. Not "empty" as "not filled", but "empty" as "pure". "empty" without a negative connotation. In Bulgarian it's "пуст".

This is the word we use for "desert" -- the word "desert" is also inappropriate, as it implies something was there and then went away.

This is also the word that you would use when speaking of emptiness in Zen Buddhism.

I have migrated from a popular mastodon instanced to a self hosted gotosocial instance. Gotosocial is great and it works well. But one thing I am missing is discovery. It seems that self hosted single user instance limits discovery. I am missing out on finding new awesome people through the feed.

Do others who have tried this type of setup have any tips?
