Does anyone have a link to a news article about the new US router ban, that includes comments from major ISPs?
Apparently Bluehost doesn’t follow “Speed up procedure” so even for an authorized transfer we're subject to ICANN's mandated hold period?
I have never encountered this limitation before. Autho codes have always been provided to speed it up. I guess Bluehost continues to just be bad?
Bluehost says “the process” takes 5-7 days but is "often faster”. But if Namecheap can receive it in 30 minutes, clearly it's up to the prior registrar simply to release the domain, no?
Or is there actually some uncontrollable background process like propagation that needs to occur? It baffles me because that's a wild range of variability even for DNS.
Okay, someone who knows how domain registrars work…
Why does the transfer process take so long?
I have Bluehost telling me a transfer is approved with the auth code, so it should be transferrable right away. I have Namecheap telling me a domain can transfer in as little as 30 minutes once approved.
It's been almost 24 hours and all I'm told is we have to wait for “THE PROCESS” but no one will tell me what that is.
hello fediverse...
im having a legit internet/computer issue and IT doesnt know what to do.
i keep having headset issues most likely because my internet speed is running at like 11.
i have to use a VPN for work because of PHI but no one can seem to figure out to increase my speed so i dont have connectivity issues.
any suggestions?
I made a thing and I'd quite like you to vote for it. It's a new Federated server that allows the public to share environmental data. All the details are on the page (plus my embarrassing video) and it's up for vote in the Hack for Humanity 2026.
Watch the video, read the gumph and if you've got the energy click the vote button.
Thanks all.
