Question for #astrodon community. I’ve got an #asiairplus a #celestron c8 edge on an #AVX mount and a #zwo asi #224mc camera.

The focal length of the c8 means that the Asiair can’t #platesolve with the camera attached. What are my best options here?

A #guidescope - platesolve and goto with the camera attached to the guidescope then switch the camera to the c8 once in position

As above, but buy a separate camera for the guidescope and use that to platesolve and #guide

Anything else?

@Paul_Hill I’ve got a new planetary camera and an #asiairplus thingy I’m going to have a go with tonight. So lots of swearing and wishing I’d just taken my dob out….!

First photo I’ve taken of #Jupiter with my #asiairplus and #zwo camera. I used a Williams Optics 66mm SD #telescope. Will be moving to my #c8edge next time I have clear skies

@estherhanko fantastic image! I’m *just* starting out with astrophotography- weather permitting - not new to astronomy. Have purchased an #asiairplus and a planetary camera. Looking forward to trying it out using my #C8Edge telescope.
