  Ronald #Dalton, a prefect at the #Ashburton Technical School who was journeying by train from his village home at #Hinds, picked up from the carriage floor a fat wallet. He went twice through the train, inquiring if anybody had lost it. A business man, feeling his pockets, discovered his wallet missing. It contained about £100 [ca. $12,400 today]. Dalton stubbornly declined a reward, but the owner declares he will hear from him at Christmas.
