New Color Study video went live today, it's about pigment PV23 Dioxazine Violet, which is found in almost every basic set, in school, student grade and professional paints alike. Just finished an article on PG7 Phthalo Green in watercolors with a monochromatic painting, swatches and mixes as always. Also some insights on toxicity etc.
I built the database with the idea to get to know the paints we use on a daily basis better. These studies help me to get to know the pigments I use for sure and I hope it helps you to get more insights as well.

I must admit, that I really enjoy this series and writing about my experiences with those colors. Because I feel they need to be talked about more... not only in advertisements.
Did you hear about the Schmincke Horadam Signature Edition this year? I'm looking in each color and do color studies, mixes etc to see if it's really worth it.
