#WSL is microsoft way of throwing a bone to those who considered dumping #windows completely for #linux. It also skews #metrics for #desktop #OS usage. Are those using wsl counted as linux usage or still counted as windows usage in the grand scheme of things? its another another #tactic by microsoft to retain #market share numbers meanwhile the actual usage of linux is way bigger than the current #survey numbers. Its similar to a previous tactic where ms was fined 380M and ms said they will pay with donating 380M worth of windows to the market. #flood more windows to users. the #regulators should have said no. ms pay #cash and we will spend the #money to support linux or however they see fit.

You may see wsl as kool, a favour, or #convenience. So ms marketing tactic/campaign over you is working and successful. I see it as another tactic and another #attack on the linux #community and #artificially retain market share numbers for itself while depressing actual uptick numbers #trend towards linux #OS and #community.
