In 1989 I was a high school student considering going to university. The University of New Brunswick held a day for prospective students to show up an attend sample lectures. I signed up for some arts courses and one on AI.

I don't remember anything except my confusion at the AI class. I looked all around the classroom. Everyone looked interested and not at all perplexed.

I, however, had no idea what the prof was going on about. He kept talking about computers for some reason, and not livestock. It took me way too long to realize the topic was artificial intelligence, not artificial insemination. I was probably the only farm kid in the room.
