Luned (or Lunete) is one of the most independent women in Welsh Arthurian legends. She's implied to be a fairy who wanders by herself between various courts, and helps her friend Owain (one of King Arthur's knights) woo the Lady of the Fountain. Luned also lends Owain her ring of invisibility.

The Welsh Arthurian knight Owain had a special bond with wild beasts. He commanded 300 magical ravens, and his most loyal companion was a black lion he had saved from a giant serpent. Afterwards, the lion constantly followed Owain around like an eagerly friendly dog.

In Welsh folklore, Cavall was King Arthur's favourite dog. His name is similar to a Latin word for "horse," indicating great size, strength, and speed. While hunting the giant boar Trwyth, Cavall left a footprint on a stone cairn that proved impossible to remove.

In the original Welsh legends, King Arthur's two constant companions were Cai and Bedwyr (later called "Kay" and "Bedivere"). Cai was a raging berserker who could grow and become red hot while Bedwyr was a one-handed warrior with a magic spear. The two were said to love each other above all other men.

However, the king kept his intelligence and used his lupine body to protect his kingdom and harass his wife. After many years, Gorlagon regained his human form, and told his story to King Arthur.
