Je suis heureux de vous présenter, mon nouveau mural réalisé à l’université Paris 8 de St Denis
Merci à @univparis8 et @_lecluse_ pour la confiance que vous m’avez accordé projet tellement symbolique pour moi

Pour cette œuvre, j’ai utilisé des couleurs vives pour recréer l’excitation que je ressentais en lisant les bandes dessinées et comics que ma mère m’offrait dans ma jeunesse. Ces bandes dessinées, avec leurs couleurs vives et leurs impressions décalées, ont finalement, avec le recul, introduit mon esprit à l’abstraction. Ils représentaient des mondes magiques pleins de mouvement et de couleur où mon esprit pouvait rêver.

Hi, I am a painter and this is my latest work:

Oil, Acrylic, Marker, Pencil on Canvas // 100 x 100 cm // 40 x 40 in // 2024
Oh-ha! A new direction in my portrait painting! 🎨 This piece combines oil and acrylic on canvas in my usual format. Unlike my typical approach of surrounding and overlaying the portrait with abstract elements, I focused on distorting colours and limiting the palette to two hues: a greenish petrol blue and a vibrant red-orange.
The portrait subtly nods to the classic green underpainting techniques (Grisaille or Verdaccio) often used by the old masters to bring life to skin tones. And remember the Obama „Yes We Can“-Campaign?
It’s fascinating to realize that I’ve recently surrounded myself with objects in these exact colours—something I only noticed midway through the process.
For me it’s the beginning of a new journey, and I’m excited to explore this colour concept further in a series.
