So the history behind these in general - "micromosaics", wearable mosaic art, hand-crafted sometime in the 1600s-1800s most likely, hard to date exactly because they were MASS produced in Italy as tourist trinkets, often by still-training artisans honing their craft before moving onto bigger and better works. The history behind these two in particular - a decade ago or so, I wound up helping a random friend sell some of his late wife's antiques collection on ebay, neither of us realizing just how incredibly vast and valuable it was; he was happy for the money, I was happy to see all the things leave storage and enter homes where they would be truly appreciated again, and I learned a hell of a lot of history along the way, which was a nice bonus!
