I posted a video to Facebook of my #toddler laughing at her dad. “Daddy s…” she started, fumbling for the word.
“Daddy silly,” my husband filled in for her, continuing to goof around and make her laugh. She giggled some more and repeated, “Daddy silly!”

Cute, right? Not according to my MIL. She angry-reacted the post and left a comment saying “NOT silly, UNIQUE and BEAUTIFUL.” When my husband messaged her about it later she seemed to be legitimately upset!

Now, the woman adores her grand baby, no question of that. But apparently she remains so damn sentimental about “her boys” (my husband is eldest of four) that even a 20 month old calling him silly (when he was being silly!) is offensive.

Can I get an eye roll up in this place, please?!

I'm watching an old J-Drama (Komyo ga Tsuji) and a character warns the protagonist that if he doesn't quell the ongoing rebellion in his province that Tokugawa Ieyasu will manufacture accusations against him to remove him from office and he replies, "Lord Tokugawa isn't like that," and Kazutoyo, buddy, homie, my dude... he absolutely IS like that, they are ALL like that!
