I am truly better off not having to look at facebook or instagram or any of the other datamine ad players, or ai slop.

I'm loath to even look at it for a few seconds. I see some of the horrors on occasion, and I can't bare to pay it any attention. I don't understand how anyone can cope with it.

It's like in the movies where facebook et al are an interdimensional being but - of course - only people with the *special glass* can see their true form. Everyone else in the tbe world thinks everything is normal.

I feel like by now we're in #AreYouAfraidOfTheDark when a kid opens a portal, allowing a shadow person invasion! By the end of the episode, the portal had closed and the beings became fully coporal, one of the formerly being-blind companions elicits in horror: "we don't need the glasses anymore!".

Watching "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" on Paramount+ to see how it holds up (semi-decent so far) but I just noticed that in multiple episodes there are casual (literally unremarked upon and unimportant) depictions of guys wearing kippot.

It felt like the kind of representation that we left back in the 90s and 00s. Plot irrelevant minority representation. Nobody comments on it. It doesn't matter whether it is there. No explanation given for why there would be a Jewish person wearing a kippah there.

It's just "these people are also just a normal part of society. This is something normal."

Do they still make kids horror movies or shows? Like actually scary stuff but for kids? I'm thinking along the lines of Are You Afraid of the Dark and similar. Maybe I'm just completely out of the loop, but its a niche that I don't see anymore.
