@SeaFury I took a structures course but it only really covered the basics: axial forces, shear, and moment connections
I think there might have been a course on grid shells and tensile structures but it was an optional elective
By the time I got to integrated studio in #architectureschool, our structural consultant was pretty annoyed that we didn't have a more detailed understanding of loads, occupancy, formulas, etc

Architects: How important is it to know structure in your design practice?
They've ripped the guts out of our architecture degree, it's now more important to choose materials based on narrative and aesthetics than performance. I'm sad that the next generation of architects knows more about photoshop than loads.
