I went for a walk with a friend at a local arboretum on the weekend and the only tree that was really starting to come to life was the larch. It was enough to delight us though, absolutely stunning!

Last week we had someone from the OSU (Oregon) arboretum come visit. The previous owners planted trees extensively across parts of the property and we now have an arboretum-like space of fairly mature trees. A lot of excitement from the visitor and plans for more visits.

This comes at a time when we've recently learned the city has started planning an additional access road "north of the cemetery" to a subdivision they want to expand. In other words, right through this property. A small thing in the scheme of what's happening in the world but it is looming large to us and land we've consciously left undeveloped.
