Quite early Sunday morning it's 70℉/21℃; gusty southeast winds; dark clouds, thunderstorms a-movin' in; visibility 10 miles at the airport.

Heading for a forecast high Monday of 97℉/36℃.

Conditions Monday morning will start off hot and humid, with the Extreme Heat Warning in effect at 9AM. Ample sunshine through the day will increase temperatures in the afternoon hours with highs topping out in the middle 90s. This coupled with dew point temperatures in the 70s will lead to heat indices at or above 105 degrees. This level of heat and humidity will be dangerous to anyone without reliable AC, those working and doing strenuous activities outside, young children, older adults, and people with chronic health conditions.

Water striders (Gerridae family) are a common sight in slow moving or still waters.
The small red dots are water mites, which up close look like spiders because they are arachnids in the (Hydarachnidae). They can also be frequently seen on other aquatic insects including dragonflies and damselflies.

Played during the weekend #Finspan, a variation of the bird game #Wingspan but a bit less complex... you have a board with 21 spaces to place fish, and the fish have restrictions on how close to the coast and/or how deep they can live... whoever fills their spaces the best way wins. I won this time.
