In the end, I think the AirPods Pro 3 did save my ears from some damage (only a slight ringing the next day). I canโt imagine how bad it would have been without them. And, to be clear, obviously ear plugs would have been better (or industrial hearing protection!), but what I had in my pocket was the AirPods, so I used those and hoped for the best. My verdict is the loud sound protection actually works, in one of the most extreme use cases possible.
AirPods Pro 3 are f0cking amazing. Iโve been at clubs and completely cancelled out their horrible music and played my own. But Khao San Road in Bangkok is too much even for these. I hope they are at least protecting my hearing, but I kinda doubt it. Apple, send you engineers here for AirPods Pro 4. This is the real test. Iโd offer to do it for you, but f0ck, I really hate this place. ๐
